Amorebieta, a tall defender that play for Venezuela, has barely featured for Athletic Bilbao this season as coach Marcelo Bielsa has relegated the defender to the bench after considering he was distracted by the negotiations to renew his contract.
Athletic Bilbao initially offered Amorebieta a five-year contract earning 1.8 millions per season. Amorebieta rejected the offer and asked to sign a six-year contract. After a long hiatus, Athletic Club withdrew its offer.
Fernando Amorebieta came up through Athletic Bilbao's youth academy before making his first-team debut in January 2005 and became a regular figure over the following seasons.
Fulham FC is based in southwest London. Founded in 1879, they play in the English Premier League, and are currently in their 11th consecutive season in the division. They are the oldest established football team from London playing in the Premier League.
Fulham have never won a major honour, although they have reached two major finals. They play at Craving Cottage, a ground on the banks of the River Thames in Fulham which has been their home since 1896.
