Alierta said that "Internet searching engines use our networks without paying anything at all. It's obvious that this situation must change".
The President of the Spanish telecommunications company Telefónica César Alierta who was attending some PwC meetings in the Basque town of Bilbao said that Spanish Telefonica will charge Google, Yahoo, Bing and other Internet search engines for using their networks.
"Internet search engines use our Net without paying anything at all, which is good for them but bad for us. It’s obvious that this situation must change, (…) our strategy is to change this", he said. (Watch all video in Spanish).
