More information (1)
Mugaritz, a two-Michelin-star restaurant run by Andoni Aduriz and based in the Basque Country, will launch ''Mugaritz BSO'', a gastronomic-musical collaborative project, the aim of which is to create a world of sound using the culinary experience represented by some of its dishes.
Thorough knowledge about the history, technique, philosophy, ingredients and presentation of each dish have been transformed into songs that reflect those same aspirations, yet through music.
Over the past three years, the musician Felipe Ugarte has examined the meaning, the making and the history of some of the culinary formulas used at Mugaritz in order to create a world in its likeness. With Juan Hernández heading the musical production, twelve tracks inspired by a menu of as many dishes at Mugaritz have been produced and are to be recorded on an album.
This gastronomic-musical metamorphosis will also be recorded in a book. ''Mugaritz BSO'' also involves the production of a documentary that will depict the full background and development of the project, from the preparation of the dishes and trips to Ethiopia and Peru in search of melodies, to the studio recordings, showing and mixing gastronomic development with musical creation.
