Spanish luxury clothing and accessories brand Loewe caused on Wednesday a stir in the social network Twitter due to its latest advertising campaign entitled 'Oro' (Gold).

The controversy, inspired by the way Loewe pictures the new generation of Spaniards, has made the brand Trending Topic worldwide on Twitter and has led to several anonymous people to produce parody videos that have also hit the Internet.

Loewe's new collection of handbags, a re-edition of a 1975 collection that became an icon of the Spanish luxury accessories brand, seeks to picture a new generation of Spaniards that has taken over from a previous artistic, cultural and musical generation.

The way the new generation of young Spaniards was pictured and the choice of people for the ad, all of them relatives of famous people, angered the users of the famous social network.

Spain has the highest unemployment rate in the 17-nation eurozone, mainly among young people.
