'Neds' gets Golden Shell for best film at Zinemaldia 2010

Elisa K obtained the Special Jury Award. In addition, Diego Luna's Abel got two prizes: Horizontes Award and Euskaltel Youth Award.

British director, screenwriter and actor Peter Mullan succeeded at the 58th edition of San Sebastian International Film Festival-Zinemaldia. Neds, his third film as a director claimed the 2010 Golden Shell, the main prize of the festival.

Besides, the protagonist of the film -Connor McCarron- was also awarded with the Silver Shell for Best Actor.

The prize for the Best Actres was for the Spanish Nora Navas for her interpretation in Agustí Villaronga''s film Pa Negre.

Mysteries of Lisbon''s director Raul Ruiz received the Silver Shell award for Best Director. A veritable whirlwind of adventures and escapades, coincidences and revelations, sentiments and violent passions, vengeance, love affairs, all wrapped in a rhapsodic voyage taking us from Portugal to France, Italy, and as far as Brazil.

The Special Jury Prize was for Elisa K by Judith Colell and Jordi Cadena from Spain, "for the way it portrays the violence to which innocent people are exposed to in everyday life".

The Jury Prize for Best Screenplay was Bent Hamer for Home for Christmas. Basque film Aita received the Jury Prize for Best Cinematography by Jimmy Gimferrer.

TCM-Audience Award was for Barney''s version, directed by Richard J. Lewis (Canada-Italy). Jury gave Special Mention to Ajamaâ by aoud Aoulad-Syad (Morocco-France) "for the complexity achieved by a simple story".
