Former Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan and President of Sinn Féin Gerry Adams will participate in the conference about the end of terrorism that Hill take place on Monday in Donostia-San Sebastian.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has apologized for not being able to attend the conference due to his commitments in the Middle East, the promoters of the meeting reported at a news conference.

Lokarri coordinator, Paul Rios, and Silvia Casale, a member of the International Contact Group on behalf of the six organizers of the meeting, released the names of the personalities who will travel to San Sebastian.

Basque Interior Minister Rodolfo Ares expressed his hope that the conference held in Donostia-San Sebastian by Lokarri will require ETA "in a clear and fim way“ to abandon "all terrorist activities."

In a press conference held in Bilbao on the occasion of a collaboration agreement between the Basque Government and the Red Cross, Ares indicated that the obstacle to achieve peace is the existence of ETA. He has indicated that the PSE will attend the conference to argue that "it needs to demand ETA to abandon all terrorist activities and dissolve."

The Minister of Interior has predicted that "we will see the end of terrorism soon, and this will not be a gift, but a consequence of the strength of the rule of law, the policy of democratic firmness and zero tolerance, civic resistance to terrorism, the example of the victims and the delegitimization of the totalitarian tenets who supported ETA. "

PNV spokesman, Joseba Egibar, was convinced that the Peace Conference of Donostia-San Sebastian next Monday is "the prelude" to ETA’s announcement to abandon violence.
President of PP in the Basque Country, Antonio Basagoiti, demanded PSOE and PNV not to make "the end of ETA more complicated" because of "emergency" elections.

Aralar will take part in the Peace Conference to be held on Monday in Donostia as it believes that "it is a quantum step in the way of peace and political normalization of these people."

Also a member of the Political Council of Ezker Batua, Kontxi Bilbao, has indicated that they support the International Peace Conference, as it "seeks to secure the end of violence" and "it is not a stage design on support of the left wing side."
