Mikel Olaciregui, director of Zinemaldia, and José Luis Rebordinos(who will take over as Director at next year''s Festival) on Fridayofficially presented the 2010 San Sebastian Film Festival. Among other announcements was the news that the Fipresci Award (bestowed by the International Federation of Film Critics) would go to Roman Polanski for his latest movie The Ghost Writer, winner of the Silver Bear at this year''s International Film Festival of Berlin.

As the director will be unable to collect his award, the actress Olivia Williams (Ruth Lang in the movie) will come to Donostia-San Sebastian to do so on his behalf.

The most newsworthy image of the day, however, was probably that of Mikel Olaciregui alongside José Luis Rebordinos who will pick up the baton as Director of Zinemaldia once this edition has ended.

Thefinal programme of this year''s San Sebastián International FilmFestival was officially announced. It comprises a "rich and varied"line-up of films despite being a year in which few films or directorshave stood out.

A new aspect to this year''s programme wasOlaciregui''s revelation that the Festival would close with a showing ofthe French film Elle S''Appelait Sarah by Gilles Paquet-Brenner while the opening would feature Mexican film Chicogrande, by Felipe Cazals.

Asexpected, the organisation has still not announced the full formationof this year''s jury and a couple of names still need to be finalised. The full line-up will only be publicized once all members have beenconfirmed.

Olaciregui also highlighted that 11 of the 18 films being shown in the Official Section are European,a indication of the "pro-European nature" of Zinemaldia, an AwardsFestival that aspires to be a "benchmark" for all cinema across the oldcontinent.
