San Sebastian is finalist to become European Cultural Capital 2016

The San Sebastian 2016 delegation formally presented its candidacy to become Cultural Capital of Europe on Tuesday in Madrid.

Decision announced at 5.30pm

The European Cultural Capital 2016 preselection committee has spent this week listening to the presentations of the 16 candidate cities. At 5.30pm on Thursday it announced the six cities which will go through to the final phase. Competing alongside San Sebastian to be named European Cultural Capital 2016 next year will be Burgos, Cordoba, Las Palmas, Segovia and Zaragoza.

The race&' || 'nbsp; will conclude next year, when the finalists present their definitive projects.
