Nonick, an international conference on Internet trends that will celebrate its 3rd edition on 17th and 18th June will host a European mobile apps competition within its Startup 2.0 competition.

The Startup 2.0 contest for Mobile Applications is a non-profit competition for startups that use 2.0 technologies whose objectives are to promote and reward the European startups (either created or willing to do so in the future) that work in the field.

Call for entries closes on May 27th. Any person or company from a European country having developed a mobile application can take part in the contest, either as a startup company (not older than 2008) or just as a personal project.

Applications must available for any of Android, Iphone, Blackberry or Windows mobile operating systems. Mobile versions of web pages are not considered mobile applications.
Anonymous projects will not be accepted, nor projects in development. Individuals and companies can submit as many projects as they wish.

The 5 finalists will take part in the International Conference on Internet Trends Nonick in Bilbao on June 17th, before a panel of investors, developers and specialists from all around the world.

Last year, more than 2,000 investors and specialists followed the online streaming and 250 took place in Nonick while the projects were being showed. Since the first edition in 2007, different start-ups have been financed or acquired as a result of this contest : Sclipo, 5min, Nvivo, 11870 , Panoramio or Bubok are some of the successful cases.

The Nonick conference, celebrated in EiTB Headquarters turns the Basque city of Bilbao into the Internet capital of Europe. Almost 400 experts from around the world join together at nonick, an event organised by eitb.com and Basque Goverment through its public company SPRI in association with CBT.
